Say Hello to Marc!
This introduction has been way overdue :)
Marc LaFountain joined us nearly a year ago, and if you’ve ever emailed us, there’s a good chance you’ve already met.
Soon after launching Tumblr, Marco and I found ourselves overwhelmed with community feedback.  Marc saved us, helping us organize and respond to thousands of users.
When he started full-time in May, the title Community Ambassador seemed appropriate.  Since then, he’s shown us just how lucky we are to have a superbly helpful and organized Ambassador to everyone doing neat stuff with Tumblr.
Marc lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife, Francisca, and their three cats, Simon, Gracie, and Zora. In his free time, he loves travel and reading as well as anything related to politics, Apple, or the Amazon Kindle.

Glad to see that Marc is getting a formal introduction to the Tumblr community. I also love that he’s getting it whilst on a camel.

Anchor Holiday Beer

I’m at a loss. It’s not bad, but it’s not good either. It’s very hearty and rich, but it has an eggnog aftertaste. Seriously.

They also lose points for using Zapfino on the label (see student work).

3 out of 5.

CocoaHeads Richmond

urbanape:

Jeff Rock

The inaugural meeting was a great success. We had an iPhone heavy contingent. Four iPhone devs, two recent Cocoa converts, and me.

Jamie Pinkham

John Maddox

Since it was our first meeting, we skipped a formal presentation and discussed what we hoped to get out of a group about Cocoa. Everyone felt strongly that we wanted to not be the smartest one around, constantly acting as mentor to the rest of the group. I think we’ve got enough variation and expertise between the seven of us that someone will always be able to teach the rest of us something. Heck, I’m the only one with desktop app experience.

Mike and Jon

So, I’m looking forward to re monthly meetings. I only wish I’d known earlier that Richmond had a group of like-minded developers.

Here are a couple more from the company holiday party… sorry Jeff, had to stick one of you in there:) The last second thought of bringing the wreath paid off as it made for some pretty funny pictures. Even the CEO had to get his picture taken with it.
The eyebrow is priceless.

This is xmas card material, for reals.

Hmm. Seems a little too easy…

I’ve got my eye on you Django, if that’s your real name.

Last night was the 2nd installment of the Richmond Tumblr Meetup. Marc was there who does technical support for tumblr. He talked about all the emails he has to respond to, so I would just like to take a minute to say how much I like tumblr and how much I appreciate what he does. Please reblog if you feel the same.

Emily

I’ll second that! Great job Marc!

More from last night’s Richmond meetup.

Photographic evidence that Emily is not, in fact, allergic to babies.

She does appear slightly afraid of them, however.
