David Kaneda: The Palm Pre is coming June 6th to Sprint. I was really hoping it would ship with the Touchstone charging dock kit, but alas — it appears that’ll be a $69.99 add-on. Personally, I think it’s a huge mistake to release two days before the WWDC keynote — Between iPhone OS 3 and a possible preview of new hardware, I imagine the Pre’s launch will be fairly eclipsed. I suppose time will tell. Agreed. Launching that close to the day that Apple has a high probability of announcing a new iPhone model is dumb. But will it really matter? The real problem here is Sprint. I knew at least a dozen people that were prepared to leave Verizon for AT&T to get an iPhone after it was announced. Do you know anyone jumping ship for the Pre? I certainly don’t.
