Everything is going to be alright
Election day is finally here and people are freaking the fuck out. Misinformation and speculation has been spread in all directions for weeks. On this final day, I’d like to remind everyone of something: no matter who wins, you’re more or less getting the same thing.

This is the Political Compass. It plots a persons socio-economic stance. See where the blue dots are in relation to the red ones? They’re in the same quadrant. I’m guessing most of you are somewhere over there too (whether you know it or not). That means we won’t spiral into socialism if Obama is elected, and children won’t starve in the streets if McCain wins (contrary to what the pundits say).
While I’m rooting for Obama because I think he has the most progressive vision for the future of America, electing him will not drastically alter the fabric of American life.
So relax, take a deep breath and stop drinking the Kool-Aid. We’re all still heading in the same direction.
