Downtown Petersburg
Closed Doors
August 4, 2019 • 1 Minute Read ∞
On a sleepy summer Sunday, a few friends and I took a quick jaunt down I-95 from Richmond and ended up in Petersburg. A city of 33,000, the downtown suffered the same way most American downtowns do when their industry dries up, and what was once a vibrant shopping district was now a ghost town.
Shuttered storefronts

Once lively businesses, bustling no more.
Closed Doors
Since there were so many of them, I decided to shoot some of the closed doors I came across. Even in their non-use, they all exhibited character and individuality.

Locks and gates abound.
Looking Up
As we packed up to leave, I couldn’t help but notice a shot that would make even Ed Trask jealous.

Divided skies.
